Unicode escape sequences example

An Unicode escape sequence represents a single Unicode character formed by:
  • a backslash "\"
  • the character "u"
  • and four hexadecimal digits (0-9a-f)
For example the chinese character for "cat" is 猫.
This character can be expressed through a Unicode escape sequence: \u732b

Unicode escape sequences can be used in a Java source files (identifiers, comments, and string literals) or Javascript files.
