Thank you so much! Solved problems I had with Inkscape.

As near as I can tell, this "converter" doesn't actually trace or otherwise convert the images to vector. It just _embeds_ the bitmap image within an SVG container.

Thank-you.

I was working on an image with 36px * 36px which is normally not traceable. This is the exact conversion method I was expecting.

Nice shot.

Finally a site providing a good translation.
Congratulation.
Posted by Olivier at January 25, 2013 17:54:09 CET
As someone mentioned before, this program only encodes in base64 the content of the original file. So unless you must have an svg version of your image this is not so usefull.
I don't see why one would need an SVG version of a file which is just as good or bad as the original but heavier not more scalable than the original no vectors there.

I'll remember that trick though and code it myself.
<?php
header("Content-type: image/svg+xml");
list($width,$height)=getimagesize($yourfile);
$mime_type = get_mime_type($yourfile);
$fool = base64encode(file_get_contents($yourfile));
printf("<svg ...%s ...%s ...%s ...%s</svg>",$width,$height,$mime_type,$fool);
?>

Well, the reason that I need to use SVG format is that with two or three programs, they require SVG format and only that format. They work fine even with something that is not truly vector. Interesting, huh?!
Posted by Quantix at August 10, 2013 22:31:59 CEST
The best converter so far.
I am very impressed by the quality of the conversions.
Even with blurry pictures, the resulting SVG is incredibly accurate.

Well done guys.
Posted by Ishak at August 27, 2013 14:32:24 CEST
Guys this is not proper conversion from any image file to svg format this site just encrypts the file and then show it as svg format so results must not proper svg file.In my point of view this is not correct place to convert your file into svg as "OLIVER" said in previous comment was 100% true.So site administrator please write some quality algorithm for this conversion.,

Needed to convert a png to svg for personalising Owncloud. Tried 5 different conversion tools. This was the only one that worked.

Perfect. Many thanx!

I have been looking for a free image to SVG converter that supported transparency. I know there is another that does, but it's not free to save your vector. I randomly came across this one via google and it worked exactly the way I wanted it to. It didn't mess up a single pixel when it came to vectoring and it also kept the transparency. I highly recommend this converter if you need it to: 1. be free to use and 2. fully support transparency.

This is perfect for converting jpegs, pngs, gifs, etc. to svg files.
I love using this converter because I can take any image I have and convert it to a vector image. No more fiddling around with Photoshop, InDesign, Inkscape, Illustrator, or any other program.
This is the only converter I will ever use again.

Thanks! I really needed a svg converter to convert my images to Scalable Vector Graphics and tried some other websites (such as http://vectormagic.com) but they didn't produce high enough quality images like the originals. This website does and is good for me.

Thanks again. I have used your tool to convert another image - .gif to .svg. I have tried some other websites before and even some offline image editor converters. Your converter makes images that look exactly like the originals.

"As near as I can tell, this "converter" doesn't actually

I agree. If you take a look at the XHTML inside the image, it
shows the pixels of the bitmap embedded in the tool. The tool
does a good job, but just doesn't properly convert the image to a vector graphic.

Thanks. This was most useful after having trolled quite a few other places.
Posted by Max at April 27, 2016 13:11:16 CEST
The image is not converted into vectors, this "conversion" just throws the uploaded image as base64 data into an SVG container which does not make any sense.

It works perfect only the application I use, only allows 15kb SVG files. When converting form PNG file I get a 16kb SVG file in return. Again the image is perfect but only too big.
Please how can I resolve this issue?
Many thanks in advance.
